Please join the Riverside Community Services Foundation and City Council Member, Andy Melendrez for a Cesar Chavez Birthday Celebration featuring two days of FREE screenings of four Chicano experience films at the inaugural Cesar Chavez Mini Film Festival.
Scheduled Screenings:

March 27: Code Black – 7:00 PM
March 28: Yo Soy Joaquín – 3:00 PM
March 28: Struggle in the Fields – 3:15 PM
March 28: Cesar Chavez – 7:00 PM

Films will be showcased at the screening room located at the UCR Barbara & Art Culver Center of the Arts (UCR ARTSblock) in Downtown Riverside, California. Seating is limited to 50 seats per screening. To reserve your seats please visit: http://culvercenter.ucr.edu/Film/List

The Festival will take place on Saturday, March 28 in Downtown, Riverside on Main St. by the Cesar E. Chavez Memorial and UCR ARTSBlock from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event is completely FREE and open to the public.

There is still time to purchase an unlimited wristband for the Spring Eggstravaganza this Saturday!

Spring into a colorful array of activities at the 2015 Spring Eggstravaganza Saturday, March 28 at Ryan Bonaminio Park at Tequesquite Arroyo! The festive family event will offer a wide range of activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. including a fun zone, train rides, petting zoo, bunny pictures, free egg hunt and vendor fair. In collaboration with the Riverside Community Services Foundation and 99.1 KGGI participants have will have an opportunity to win a pair of Taylor Swift concert tickets by purchasing a $5 raffle ticket the day of the event with all proceeds benefiting the Riverside Community Services Foundation.

The featured Free Eggstravagant Egg Hunt will being promptly at 10 a.m. and will offer youth an opportunity to participate in one of five age divided categories (0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and Special Needs). Participants are required to bring their own baskets to collect candy filled eggs. Wristbands are required for Fun Zone activities for a nominal fee and are available for purchase at any local community center or atRivReg.org. Wristbands are $5 pre-sale through 4 p.m. Friday, March 27 and $7 day of the event. Avoid the lines and pick up your pre-sale wristband early at the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department office on Friday, March 27 (6927 Magnolia Avenue, 2nd Floor) from 2 – 4:30 p.m.

Water Leak Prompts Railroad Maintenance Work

Due to a recent water leak on Brockton Avenue under the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, the train rail settled slightly and needs to be brought back to the proper vertical alignment.

Union Pacific Railroad has requested to close Brockton Avenue to repair the damaged rail for three days as follows:

From 6:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19 through March 21, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

The closure encompasses the area north of Dewey and south of the Department of Motor Vehicles.

All businesses and residents will have access on Brockton Avenue.
