RDP’s Monthly Luncheon
January 22, 2013 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Please join us for RDP’s luncheon meeting on Tuesday, January 22nd at Noon at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
Our speaker will be Mary Ortiz who is in charge of community outreach for the University Community Health Center. The Center is part of Community Health Systems, Inc., a non-profit healthcare organization serving the Tri-County area (San Bernardino, Riverside & San Diego Counties) of Southern California. CHSI participates in a nationwide effort to extend a safety net of health services to those who lack access to health services, especially the low-income, underinsured (or uninsured) individuals with limited means to pay for quality health services. The mission of CHSI is not to compete with other clinics that provide healthcare services, but to serve the indigent population and meet their healthcare needs. The University Community Health Center is the second CHSI facility in Riverside, with the first located on Magnolia. Mary Ortiz will speak on how the Center is serving the Downtown and Eastside communities.
Brian Moore from the Pick Group will also speak on their new initiative, The Coaster Conundrum, a collaboration between young professionals and local artists in Riverside. The Pick Group is working to help raise awareness of the hottest art produced by 6 local artists. They have commissioned a set of coaster designs for use by local bars and restaurants as part of an art exhibit held at Division 9 Gallery, and will be coordinating events around the exhibit such as a “Coaster Scavenger Hunt,” Pub Crawl, and gallery reception. Coaster hosts participating this year include Mario’s Place, Phood on Main, The Salted Pig, The Menagerie, Back to the Grind, Killarney’s, Lounge 33, Mazz, and Chris Kern’s Forgotten Grapes.
RDP’s monthly luncheon will be held at the Old Spaghetti Factory (please check for location of room). There will be three entrees to choose from; Chicken Caesar Salad, Spinach and Cheese Ravioli (vegetarian option), and Chicken Marsala. All entrees come with bread, soup or salad, and spumoni ice cream for dessert. A gluten-free menu is available. Attendees can pre-order their entrée when making their reservation. Luncheon orders will start being taken at 11:45 am so all meals can be served no later than 12:30 pm.
The cost of the luncheon meeting is $18 if reservations are made prior to Friday, January 18th and $20 at the door. Sorry but all reservations will be billed unless cancelled on or before Friday, January 18th.
