Riverside Downtown Partnership Celebrates Downtown Achievements
Riverside, CA. The Riverside Downtown Partnership (RDP) will host its 38th Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Riverside Convention Center – Raincross Ballroom. This annual event recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations for their excellence in leadership and service to the downtown community.
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
Arts and Culture – Riverside Community Arts Association. Established in 1989 by Mark Schooley, the Riverside Community Arts Association (RCAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, showcasing, and exposing the art of its members to the public on a regular basis, through exhibits and sales, as well as to providing opportunities to network with one another.
Business Activity – Dr. Jungmiwha Bullock – Downtowne Bookstore. Dr. Bullock purchased the store in July 2023 with a commitment to recognizing its history but expanding its interaction with the community. She revitalized the store with a refresh and reorganization of the interior, and recently expanded into a Main Street space allowing more events and activities.
Downtown Event – Junior League of Riverside Truck-a-Palooza. This family-friendly one day event allows children of all ages to look at, climb on and learn about a variety of vehicles and modes of transportation. Vehicles include those for construction, emergencies, business, public safety officers, and more.
Downtown Improvement – City of Riverside Arts and Culture District – Banners and signage. The Arts and Culture District was established to recognize the downtown as a hub for art, entertainment, history and more. The banners along Main Street and signage throughout are critical to identifying the area, even more important with its designation as a cultural district.
Downtown Safety and Security – Riverside Police Department – Park and Neighborhood Specialist Program. Park and Neighborhood Specialists (PANS) perform patrol, observation and enforcement duties at City parks, park facilities, and adjacent neighborhoods. They are an important adjunct to sworn officers and provide additional safety and security in areas they patrol.
Chair’s Award – MBG Lifestyle Group. The five McGuire brothers first started their business empire with a bail bonds company, expanding later into the hospitality industry and other endeavors. They have shared their success with the community through the foundation they created, the Miracles and Dreams Foundation, and events such as Miracle on Main and Backpack Giveaway in Riverside and other locations.
Roy Hord “Volunteer of the Year” Award – The recipient will be announced following the close of nominations on December 26, 2025.
The RDP Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony will begin with a no-host reception at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner, the awards ceremony, and then recognition of outgoing and incoming RDP Board members. Tickets purchased prior to January 23, 2026 are $150 per person or $1,450 for a table of ten. Tickets purchased January 24, 2026 and after are $160 per person or $1,550 for a table of ten. To purchase tickets or a table, call the RDP office at 951-781-7335.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. All sponsors receive a number of complimentary tickets and recognition in print material and social media depending on the level of sponsorship. RDP is also looking for donated items such as tickets, gift certificates, and gift baskets for the opportunity drawing. All proceeds raised are used to offset the costs of the Annual Meeting and Awards. To sponsor or donate, contact Janice Penner at the RDP Office at 951-781-7339.
